Horse owners are increasingly choosing to opt for more natural methods of horse management. More and more horse owners are convinced that horses need continuous access to fresh air and movement. This has had a considerable impact on the demands
made on the quality of the turnout area. Above all, the surface must be non-slip, and when it rains the water must drain away easily. An optimal solution is to be found in the HIT DRAINGRID©. |

| With or without foundations in every case we can provide hardwearing, long lasting surfaces for turnout areas and paddocks. The same high standards are maintained in the construction of surfaces for riding arenas. Here too, the use of the HIT DRAINGRID© guarantees that the surface will be permanently well drained and never become ‘too deep’. In general, the turnout areas and riding arenas will be ’built up’ on the existing soil level i.e. each layer is laid on the existing surface: weight-bearing layer separating layer riding surface - with a gradient of 1-2%. The following illustrations show the respective installations and provide essential information for planning the highest quality construction for the surface. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| General Instructions: HIT- DRAINGRID© was created to provide safe surfaces in equestrian sport. Recycled polyethylene is used in its production. Any expansion due to temperature change is fully counteracted by the recommended depth of the riding surface and the special shape of the grid. During the installation, flexible separators provide an expansion joint of the correct size. In order to obtain the best possible surface, it is essential to follow the instructions on this page. | Water permeable material is used for the weight bearing surface [e.g. Recycled gravel 10-70 mm particle size or similar] | ||||||||||||
| The surface is installed and levelled with suitable equipment; height approximately 15-30 cm; surface gradient approximately 1% | ||||||||||||
